My wife and have marveled over our inherited Oberon checkbook cover that must be at least 20 years old and shows virtually no wear. When I saw the woman’s wallet in bright red and with a dragon motif, I ordered it to replace her worn looking Coach wallet. I was impressed with the leather and tooling but very disappointed with the hardware. Having an elastic cord wound around a plastic looking post is just shabby. It looks like the closure on a give-away note book I got when I test drove a Mini. I would expect at least a simple magnetic snap. Given our experience with Oberon’s leather, the wallet will last for decades most of them with a worn out useless elastic closing device.
