My first Oberon purchase was a cover for my first Kindle reader. It was the old keyboard model and was very beautiful in its new clothes. Since then I've upgraded readers and covers many times. I've received and given Oberon gifts in addition to my own purchases since the 1990's. I have always been thrilled with the appearance and utility of every item. Reader covers, check book covers, notebooks, etc. Everything has been perfect! Thank you for sharing your talent and artistry over these several decades. I love this company.
This is one of my favorite designs. The smaller size is perfect for travel and the quality, as always, is impeccable! I own many of your journals amongst other items and love them all.
I requested a metal closure like the journals have which the Oberon staff provided information about how and how much it would cost to do this. It was an additional $25. which is high but still worth it as the way I use this really needs to be closed to protect the contents and I don't think the elastic strap which is added to this smaller size does a good enough job. The staff used a smaller rectangular shaped one which works with this design and it looks fabulous. If I can load a photo of the journal I will do so. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was that instead of a leather tie, an elasticized small loop was threaded through two small holes on the back cover, If you look under the back flap you can see there are several inches as well as metal end caps on the string underneath. I fear that it will eventually loosen and if the holes in the leather stretch the portion underneath will come through resulting in a totally ineffective closure. I would vastly have preferred the leather strip used on their full size journals. I appreciate the ease of special orders as well as the companies willingness to make your journal exactly as you want it. The design is on both the front and back cover and is a classic. As I knew this would get a lot of use, I selected black so as to minimize the wear it will get. From my other journals, going back to the 80s I know if properly cleaned and conditioned these journals last for generations. How many things do you purchase today that you can pass on to your descendants? In the age of planned obsolescence and throw it in the trash mentality, it is refreshing to have a company that continues old world craftsmanship.
My husband thinks it’s attractive and fits in his back pocket well.
I have purchased your journals and notebook covers for many years. Your workmanship, and care to details makes a real difference to me when I buy something special for myself or others. The little extras like the charm and information card (beautiful paper, art, printing.) When I purchase one for myself it truly is a gift. Thanks for what you do.
Quality in all aspects as usual.
