Celebrating Jacques Cousteau!
Jacques Cousteau was an ocean explorer, filmmaker, scientist, photographer, author and researcher that educated the world on all forms of ocean life from the 1950’s thru his death in 1997. He and his first wife, Simone Melchior Cousteau co-invented the Aqualung in the 1940’s which led to open-circuit scuba technology used by modern scuba divers. Cousteau’s extended family, sons and grandchildren are still heavily involved in ocean conservation. To read more about their crucial work go here: http://www.oceanfutures.org/
